Updates coming

After giving some serious thought to how I wanted to have the software section of my site look, I’ve decided to try and use Apache Forrest to generate those pages. Good combination of flexibility and structure with a relative ease of generating the viewable pages. Now I just need a way to get the same look and feel for the site across all three sections. But for now the information is the important part.

For the love of god…

For the love of god, people – think of the cones. I was once one of those people. You know the ones that could look at a traffic cone and not think twice about stopping to help? Well, no more, my friends.

Photos and stuff

I don’t maintain any illusions that I’m a wonderful photographer, but I enjoy taking pictures and I enjoy looking at the results of what I do. On that basis I’m submitting a handful of photos I’ve taken to a few different shows coming up. Tomorrow is the due date for art to be submitted to the Cleveland Clinic employees art show. The pieces hang in the main lobby of the hospital so a lot of eyeballs see whatever is displayed. The two pieces that I’m sending in are here and here. These are cropped versions of photos I’ve had up on the gallery before and I think that printed at 8×10 they look quite nice. We’ll see – they may not even be accepted (I don’t think they’ll take the frames I have them in…) but who knows.

After that show there is a photography contest hosted by Holden Arboretum. The catch with that one is that all the photos need to be taken on Holden’s grounds and I don’t have enough that I like that qualify yet. There’s so much beautiful stuff there that it is ironic that I can’t find enough from my collection that I like enough. It seems that the photos that I take that I like the best are the ones where I’m not trying to get a wonderful photograph. I’m also getting more used to my D70, so that helps some too.

I have some more updates that I want to get up here. It’s not a lack of stuff to say that’s holding me back like before – it’s lack of time to type it in and organize it. I’ll get there.

Oh shit, here comes the anti-patriotism again…

“Our enemies are innovative and resourceful, and so are we.
They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people,
and neither do we.”

George W. Bush, Thursday, August 5, 2004

I’m not even going to comment on this.
