Photos and stuff

I don’t maintain any illusions that I’m a wonderful photographer, but I enjoy taking pictures and I enjoy looking at the results of what I do. On that basis I’m submitting a handful of photos I’ve taken to a few different shows coming up. Tomorrow is the due date for art to be submitted to the Cleveland Clinic employees art show. The pieces hang in the main lobby of the hospital so a lot of eyeballs see whatever is displayed. The two pieces that I’m sending in are here and here. These are cropped versions of photos I’ve had up on the gallery before and I think that printed at 8×10 they look quite nice. We’ll see – they may not even be accepted (I don’t think they’ll take the frames I have them in…) but who knows.

After that show there is a photography contest hosted by Holden Arboretum. The catch with that one is that all the photos need to be taken on Holden’s grounds and I don’t have enough that I like that qualify yet. There’s so much beautiful stuff there that it is ironic that I can’t find enough from my collection that I like enough. It seems that the photos that I take that I like the best are the ones where I’m not trying to get a wonderful photograph. I’m also getting more used to my D70, so that helps some too.

I have some more updates that I want to get up here. It’s not a lack of stuff to say that’s holding me back like before – it’s lack of time to type it in and organize it. I’ll get there.
