Whew – long time

It’s been too long since an update. I’ve really been under the weather for a while, so that’s my excuse. I did want to update things and say that the kitties are no longer available. I’ll be hanging on to them. Not that my phone was ringing off the hook..

I should have another update pretty soon here. Stay tuned. 🙂

Take my cat

I need to get rid of at least one of these cats very quickly. If you can provide a decent home for Leo I would be eternally greatful. He’s a big three year old cat – 14+ pounds, but friendly, healthy, playful and cuddly. Almost entirely black except for a tiny patch of white on his chest.

The other kitty is Nomad He’s got a number of health problems so I don’t expect anybody to want to take him. Just getting Leo out of here might calm things down enough that it will be easy enough to take care of him and the rest of the house though. He’s fairly big at 12 pounds, probably nine or ten years old, really likes attention, but sleeps most of the time.

E-mail me at mike at thot dot us if you are willing to adopt one of these cats. Both are entirely indoor cats, front declawed and Nomad has no teeth. Thanks.

Update: I’m starting to print up flyers to post around for Nomad. If you’re interested you need to e-mail me or leave a note quite soon. The comments are moderated, so I see them before they are posted, hence you can leave a note and tell me to delete it, not approve it.

Falling Behind

I can’t let Jeff get ahead of me in blogging. So I have nothing to say, but I’m going to go ahead and say something anyway.

There is a post under construction for this section that is a long diatribe about the Catholic Church, which as human organizations go, annoys me more than most. Hopefully it’s fairly well reasoned. They’ve been doing two things recently that they’ve done to annoy me (which I’ll go in to more detail on when I finish that other post) but quickly they’ve gotten involved with politics, which violates the church/state separation (and should preclude them from any sort of tax-exempt status) and are pushing hard against same sex marriages. It’s bad enough that Bush is trying to write discrimination into our constitution – the first time a constitutional amendment has been used not to grant freedoms to people, but instead take away the hopes of equal treatment. I contribute heavily to the organization that I linked to above – the Human Rights Compaign. They seem to be the group most visible in fighting the 39 states trying to write discriminatory laws at the moment and obviously the federal efforts as well. I’d encourage you to visit their site and since you are obviously a smart person and agree with this position, to consider aiding their cause.

On a completely unrelated note, I also uploaded some more photos to the New Photos section of my gallery and moved some old ones around. That is all. Have a nice day.

Been slacking

Anybody who knows me probably knows that I get in rather melancholic moods on a fairly regular basis. I’ve been in one of those for the past few weeks, so I’ll use that as my excuse for lack of updates. If it makes you feel any better I’ve been slacking in my yard work, house cleaning, and just about every where else as well.

I did get out and take some more pictures last weekend in Chagrin. It was a bit of a hurried trip because of the threat of thunderstorms. The week before I decided to buy a new digital camera (Nikon d70) so I’m still getting used to it. As a result many of the photos I took didn’t come out very well because I was trying to be too fancy. The nice part about a digital is that you just delete them and move on. I did rearrange my gallery to make things a bit easier to find the new photos. After they move out of the “new” section I’ll organize them where they should be, but now if you just want to see what’s new go there.

With this long weekend coming up I hope to go on some new trails and to get some more photos. It’s like a mini-vacation until I can get off my ass and plan a real trip. I may have a work trip to California coming up sometime soon, so that may be an excuse to laze around there for a few extra days. We’ll see.
