It’s well deserved too. I haven’t updated in over a month because school, work and trying to find time just to relax as been too much. But as of tonight my last final is complete and I am a free man, if only for a bit. So I’m on my second St. Pauli girl of the night, with probably one or two more waiting in line. Oh how the women love me.
In addition to being done with finals, next week I’m taking a vacation. A real honest-to-goodness vacation. It’s the first trip I can count as purely recreational in at least 10 years. This is kind of a half-assed vacation, being just 4 days in Vegas, but it’s four days where I have to do absolutely nothing. Plus it adds up to nine days out of the office which I haven’t done since that butcher from UH performed “surgery” on me. Those two weeks of weren’t the most enjoyable by a long shot.
So I’ll have a few weeks here to relax before classes begin again. I’m also doing only two classes next semester, since three was a bit too much. Hopefully my updates will come more frequently than once a month for the next sememster. I should have some interesting news in the next few weeks so stay tuned.

We came back from a trip to Pennsylvania to see the folks and Gary and Cheryl the previous weekend. It was an occasion of much gaming, but not nearly enough drinking. The bright news is that I’m almost through the case of Troegs beer I brough back with me. I had a good time that weekend though and I will have some pictures up to show shortly.
Speaking of photos I have some going into the gallery not only from the trip (Mike’s ghetto coffee…. awww yeah.) but I managed to get a few decent ones of Holden this past weekend. Hopefully they’ll be up by tonight, but Wednesday by the latest.
Nextly, for those of the healthcare persuasion that read this, there’s an exciting new update to the HL7 Browser coming tomorrow – support for networking. It’s the feature I’ve really looked forward to adding to it. I also make the source-code for it available now, so help yourself.
And for the final item, I’d like to announce a new fund I’m trying to raise money for. The buy me a new powerbook or faster ibook fund. Contact me to contribute – your generosity is appreciated.

My recent period of inactivity here has me wanting to make up for it with a flurry of posts. Count yourself lucky.
I cast my vote for Kerry today, along with a flurry of other other people and issues. After Kerry first came a big no to issue one, which was an amendment to Ohio’s constitution attempting to ban gay marriage. It is very vaguely worded and possibly not constitutional and, I think, unlikely to stand a court challenge. However, it makes this state look like a bunch of backwards hillbillies to be out writing discrimination into the state constitution. The other issues had to do with parks and taxing businesses – two issues I’m always in favor of, even if it costs me a few bucks.

Some spammer thought it was clever to leave 266 comments on my blog praising the virtues of their online casino. As a results all comments must now be approved by me ahead of time. It’s wonderful how human nature sinks to the lowest common denominator.
