I’ll be moving nule.org to another physical machine (though with the same hosting, thot.us) within the next 30-60 days. Hopefully outages will be brief at worst. Still, if you notice problems, feel free to let me know at nule at this domain.
It’s been a long while, primarily because I couldn’t decide what to do with HCM for a second revision. I wanted to start on building a configuration and code editing GUI, but persistence that was easy enough for just about anybody to setup with tomcat continues to elude me. So I took the GUI cleanups, some library updates, and some minor other enhancements and rolled them into a new stable version.
Once again, how you use HCM, is you create configurations and logic scripts using HL7 Comm then make them available to HCM in it’s configuration file. Once that’s complete HCM will read them in and basically act like a number of HL7 Comm instances running in a manner that makes their basic functionality available in a web browser. Specifically you can monitor, start and stop the controllers (a single instance of HL7 Comm) and you can view recent log information.
If you use it or even try it, please let me know, especially if you have problems. I hope (though I can’t guarantee) that the major releases are without significant flaws, and will reliably move your data from point to point. As always, check the support forums first and I’ll be sure to get back to you right away.
There are new versions of both HL7 Comm and HL7 Browser available.
HL7 Comm 1.0.1 is a bugfix for the headless mode of operations and contains some considerable tweaks and improvements in both the Light HL7 Library functions and the back end thread handling. That means starting and stopping should be more reliable (hopefully they were already reliable for you.
HL7 Browser 1.0 contains a fix for MSH field counts in display. It’s been close to 1.0 for so long we’re calling this a stable version number (which is only psychological, as you know) and shipping it.
Enjoy. Provide feedback.
Thanks.
I’m re-organizing the site a bit. This won’t break any links but might be a little wonky for a while.
Update: OK, that’s the general gist of the new layout, hope everybody approves. I’m going to do something insane and temporarily re-enable users registrations and comments. I’m betting this will last about two days before I have to turn it off again.
I guess I should also say that the this change may make my previous mention of moving the HL7 software to a separate site no longer applicable. Since that’s the most common use of this site it stands to reason that it gets to stay while other stuff moves if need be.
