Upgrade

I upgraded to wordpress 2.0 this morning. Let me know if you find anything broken here.

Update: Because I’m totally nutty, I’m updating gallery to version 2.0 too. Let me know if I’ve broken anything there as well.

Update 2: Gallery 2 is a crappy piece of software. Everything is broken at the moment.

Update 3: Went back to gallery 1.5.  Maybe someday they’ll come out with an upgrade path that doesn’t crash my server.

New Website

I made a website for the Cleveland Clinic Concert Band at http://www.clevelandclinicconcertband.org/ – check it out and tell me what you think. Speaking of the band, we’re playing at HealthSpace Cleveland (formerly the Health Museum) at 8:00 PM next Tuesday with the Hillcrest Concert Band. It’s free for the public, so come join us!

A new baby

Amanda and I have adopted a beautiful ten pound baby boy. We’re very excited. He’s a lot of work right now, but we’ll get used to it.

Take a look at his first pictures here: http://nule.org/gallery/album07

New Job

I’ve been quiet for a few weeks despite the fact that I have exciting news about a new job. On the twelth I’m starting a new position within the Cleveland Clinic with the department of Neurology. That’s right, I’m going to be a brain surgeon. Err, I mean, I’m going to be building a new epilepsy application for them. They have piles of data in different sources (MRI, EEG, lab work, etc) that they want to consolidate in a single source for clinical and research purposes. It’ll be my job to make it happen.

For the previous 4 years, 8 months, I’ve been doing system integration work for the Clinic, and despite the fact that it’s been a great work environment, I’m really ready to move on. It’s simply exciting to be doing something new, and at the same time something that is more focused on patient care and research, which is more along the lines of my eventual goals in IT.

There’s some more interesting stuff going on that I can’t talk about yet, but I’ll spill the beans eventually. It’s been a busy few months.
